Press conference on the use of fluorides
A Press Conference in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Faculty of Dental Sciences, university of Peradeniya was conducted on 23rd June 2015 at the Health Education Bureau, Colombo.
It was arranged by the SLDA to educate members of general public on the benefits of the use of fluoridated toothpastes. Dr. Dileep de Silva, Consultant in Community Dentistry and President of SLDA, Prof. Upul B Dissanayake, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences (presently the Vice Chancellor of the Univeristy of Peradeniya), Dr. JMW Jayasundara Bandara, Deputy Director General (Dental Services) of the Ministry of Health addressed the press conference.
Dr. Nilantha Ratnayake, Consultant in Community Dentistry also expressed his views at the conference.
The SLDA office has become a Wi-Fi enabled zone. Any member could utilize the privilege of internet access free of charge by bringing their own laptops to the SLDA office and connecting to the net.
