This event category includes the main events held annually by SLDA and other related meetings. This also includes the monthly meetings held through the Sri Lanka Dental Association.
These gatherings offer a platform for members to engage with contemporary dental research, share clinical experiences, and discuss emerging trends in dentistry. They also provide valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among dental professionals. Whether through our major annual conference or our regular monthly meetings, SLDA is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of dental practitioners committed to excellence in oral health care.
Annual Scientific Sessions – 2024
The 91st Year Annual Scientific Sessions of the Sri Lanka Dental Association took place from the 26th to the 28th of June 2024 at the Taj Samudra, Colombo, under the theme “Novelty, Innovation, and Technology.” The event commenced on the 26th with four highly engaging pre-congress workshops covering key topics: ‘Endodontics,’ ‘Tooth Whitening,’ ‘CBCT,’ and ‘Lasers in Dentistry,’ all of which were well attended.
The main sessions, held on the 27th and 28th of June, drew over 350 participants, including dental surgeons, interns, and students. The scientific program featured 10 guest lectures, 3 symposia, a keynote address, and a free paper session with both oral and poster presentations.
The inauguration ceremony and the prestigious S.B. Dissanayake Oration took place on the evening of the 27th, graced by the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana. The sessions also welcomed several esteemed international speakers, fostering an enriching exchange of knowledge and expertise among the participants.
